Backgroundinfo icon

Since around 2006, Jamaica has supplied many of the world's fastest sprinters. Some have used genetics to explain the Jamaican dominance in sprinting, some credit the Jamaican environment, while others believe that it is the result of rampant cheating in the form of Performance Enhancing Drugs (PEDs). At the center of this debate is Usain Bolt, first recognized when he became the youngest gold medalist ever at the 2002 Junior World Championships. After establishing himself as a professional sprinter, Bolt won 17 of his 18 races between 2007 and 2016, capturing 17 gold medals and setting multiple world records. Since Bolt wins races against athletes known to have taken PEDs, some wonder if Bolt became the world's fastest man by taking PEDs himself.

Am I led to believe that because an athlete is vocal about being against PES that this lends weight to him being clean? lol...Just because an athlete didnt fail a drugs test means nothing. With the right masking agents, good cycling and relaxed testing regimes most people wont be caught. So I believe Bolt has used steroids of some sort.

Yes, he doped.

An extract from an interview on the production & use PEDs from Ángel Guillermo Heredia Hernández, who actually produced and dealt PEDs to the likes of top level olympians (interview from 2008): SPIEGEL: Mr. Heredia, will you watch the 100 meter final in Beijing? Heredia: Of course. But the winner will not be clean. Not even any of the contestants will be clean. SPIEGEL: Of eight runners ... Heredia: ... eight will be doped. SPIEGEL: There is no way to prove that. Heredia: There is no doubt about it. The difference between 10.0 and 9.7 seconds is the drugs. Another extract, same interview - SPIEGEL: Once again: a constant performance at the world-class level is unthinkable without doping? Heredia: Correct. 400 meters in 44 seconds? Unthinkable. 71 meters with a discus? No way. You might be able to run 100 meters in 9.8 seconds once with a tailwind. But ten times a year under 10 seconds, in the rain or heat? Only with doping. Final extract - SPIEGEL: Are there still any clean disciplines? Heredia: Track and field, swimming, cross-country skiing and cycling can no longer be saved. Golf? Not clean either. Soccer? Soccer players come to me and say they have to be able to run up and down the touchline without becoming tired, and they have to play every three days. Basketball players take fat burners – amphetamines, ephedrin. Baseball? Haha. Steroids in pre-season, amphetamines during the games. Even archers take downers so that their arm remains steady. Everyone dopes. So, yes. Bolt used PEDs.

"Missing evidence: signs of PED use." You've obviously never tried bodybuilding, naturally, no 'roids. He was meant to just be a sprinter, yet had musculature better than a true natty BB, despite being 6' 5", which makes gaining muscle harder. Also, humans aren't evolving - 9.90s was about the 100M limit, before PEDs. Jamaica is known to be safe from random tests too. Most of the people he was beating, including his fellow Jamaicans, were caught using, plus he's easily the fastest ever too - which suggest that, if he's clean, the PEDs don't help, when they obviously help massively.

I want everyone to go Google Images and look up pictures of Tyson Gay. He ran a 9.69 to Usain’s 9.58, and that guy was JUICED and got busted.

And Bolt was more muscular than Gay, despite his beanpole frame.
